Innocent laughter

Hold up, what was that?

  1. I read the comments under the article. Holy shit some of these morons are so dim I surprised they could actually follow the plot of a soap opera....or read.

  3. If you say so. You just keep showcasing your lack of reading comprehension, since you correlate "talking to you is like talking to a pigeon" to "I identify as a pigeon".

  4. Except for the fact you literally labeled yourself as a pigeon. Because you can only play pigeon chess - even metaphorically - with pigeons. And I know I'm not a pigeon (according to you, in fact, I'm a pseudo-intellectual, which means I actually know something about language), ergo...

  5. Lol. And yet you still need to have the last word. You still need to win. If anything you said was actually true, you wouldn't be responding at all. But you just can't help yourself. Fortunately, I can.

  6. It's amazing that the people who actually act like Nazs are the same chuckfucks afraid to wear fucking masks. But remember kiddies, it's all about "freedumb!" - i.e. the ability fuck fuck things for everyone because you are literally to stupid to care.

  16. Poland once again reaffirms why as a country it deserves to be mocked.

  17. As I said before, NOBODY other than me, went through this shit so, your perception of whether is true or not, means nothing to me. But thanks anyway for taking your time to read this.

  18. Everyone goes through shit. However, only a certain caliber of shit earns the distinction of living on in stories such as these. Truly, we a are a magniloquent species, if judged solely on our shit.

  19. Yet another bullshit story (seems to be a running theme of here lately) but still a good one. So, props, again, for that.

  20. Another one for the history books. The chapter title? "Shit that actually happened in the USA in 2020 and 2021."

  21. And remember everyone - this is the work of his "best people".

  22. it looks like hospital food and that you might actually be enjoying it. Something might have gone wrong after all. But if you are in fact enjoying what looks like olives and tuna fish of your own accord, more power to you. Congrats, and hope for a full and speedy recovery. And much real food.

  24. It's a bullshit story from start to finish, but it's a good one. So props for that.

  25. Pretty sure a number of new things will launch within the next 79 years.

  26. Actually, while the burner has a point, in this case I think he's actually completely wrong. Code switching exists, but so to does deliberate mocking and dog whistling. People can and do change the way they talk, both when talking to certain people and using certain types of media. However, there is a dramatic difference between the use of standard lingo to speed communication, lingo used to front, and lingo *used deliberately to suggest the poster is "something" or is "mocking something". The former two are actual examples of legitimate "code switching"; the latter is a form of linguistic cosplay, designed to evoke a certain type of response, largely based on the preconceptions of the reader. The poster may even actually believe the fundamentals behind the stuff they are posting. However, the performative aspect is the key factor, and it dominates. The tell is overkill. Every legitimate version of code switching lingo has actual syntax. No matter how jarring, it's consistent. By contrast, when things - like the deliberate crap spieling and grammar in the original post - are slopped around like someone spilled a bucket of paint, there is no actual syntax at all; only deliberate examples of the lingo piled one atop the other, like a train wreck. That's why people can intrinsically identify when someone is "laying it on thick". It simply doesn't flow naturally. And that's the point. It's not designed to be an actual response in the appropriate lingo; it's designed to ape it badly. To those who has never encountered it before, it looks legitimate enough. But to those who "speak the language" (so to speak) know it just doesn't sound real. Like something someone who actually has a brain but had no other way to communicate things - save in this one particular way - would say it. It's just too much, and totally farcical. So it gives itself away. Again, it's a calculated response, that plays on the assumptions of the reader. The actual content is secondary, if relevant at all. Knowing this, the best thing to do is actually not to engage unless you can shut them down completely - either by murdering them with words (as in the case provided), or to calling them out and telling them to fuck off. Remember that's it's only a game if two people chose to play. So break the rules and bow out - with a bang if possible - to not only stop this garbage in it's tracks, but to warn others about the game and to avoid it. Putting as much effort in analyzing the actual nitty-gritty of the post as the OP murderer did deserves props, but it isn't really needed, and it is far more then the troll poster deserved. Sometimes it's more then enough to recognize bullshit and call it out so other people can avoid stepping in it. That's giving the post all the "respect" it deserves, and not a lick more.

  27. Republicans have no shame, and know no shame. Not now. Not ever.

  28. Of course Trump as absent. That fuck only gives a shit about himself. When he dies, I'm sure his family will be surprised as how many turn up at his funeral - to throw shit.

  29. I like to remind those people that they are saying the equivalent of "I'm not a pedophile, I just like to fondle children". It tends to give them pause, if only for a second.

  31. The problem is that despite having access to the information, there's no way to act upon it.

  32. Boris and Farage are two peas in a chucklefuck pod. They are both equally shit.

  33. I can't see how Farage could be worse at this point in time.

  34. Fathered a child with Farage? Though for all we know, he may have tried...

  35. It's pretty real. The test is out there, you can get it if you want. Grail, the company, has been one of the biggest startups in biotech history. They got like $1 billion of funding for this stuff and were backed by Illumina, the most successful DNA sequencing company. The science behind screening circulating tumor DNA is also quite solid. Right now it's clear it works pretty well, my main question is whether we'll see the society-level benefits that early detection can bring.

  36. Being no stranger to either lab work or blood, I understand what you are saying, but there is still a bit of valid skepticism to be had at this point regarding the scope. There needs to be more studies done, with the results available to review in full in multiple professional journals, before these can be confirmed. The backers and their respective profiles are effectively irrelevant: what works, works, and what does not, does not. The proof is in the pudding, and in the scientific and medical fields, that's the one and only thing that matters. If everything does in fact work as advertised, the benefits to all levels of society will come, in time. However, breathless clickbait never does these things justice, as the people chosen to relay said information always succumb to the need to elevate something from potentially factual to the alluringly fantastical, and in the process does a disservice to everyone involved, at all levels.

  37. Oh look, another adaptation Netflix can butcher. Sorry, did I say "butcher"? I meant to say "kill".
