  1. She’s sooooo lucky. If she hadn’t woken up when she did it would have hatched and crawled in her ear.

  2. Follow up in a few days to check-in and see if she has suddenly developed an obsession with 'You Might Think' by The Cars.

  3. You will see the same game done on other city/country subreddits. Mostly just banter for the people who live there to talk shit about other regions under the guise of making increasingly odd maps. Usually just eliminations though, not sure what this fortifying business is about.

  4. Oh, hey-- I came to the thread to plug ranked-choice voting, and you are already here!

  5. The flipside of this is total loss of legal certainty. By making everybody's daily life "illegal but tolerated", they can lock anyone up w/o a reason. That is exactly why dictatorships do that.

  6. A bit like how cannabis and drugs have been used by repressive regimes to the exact same ends for most of the 20th century.

  7. Let’s ask the people of Lithuania how that experiment turned out.

  8. While you are at it ask the people of Chile how that experiment with Neoliberlism turned out.

  9. Yes, the US does honor treaties... The current world order is a system whereby you must honor your word or no country can trust you...

  10. If anyone has access to flight maps and radar, I've seen pictures on twitter of dozens of US planes flying over to evacuate personnel tonight. It looks like 1975 Saigon right now. The absolute saddest thing is not having enough time to evacuate all the Afghanis that need to be out of that country. It'll be a bloodbath when the Taliban have full control.

  11. There has been a war for the past two decades by the current government. How was it already not a bloodbath?

  12. How about start with giving the land back? The apology might actually mean something after that.

  13. He has paid his dues to the Democratic Party but after the lack of relief during the plague, the obscene police violence during the BLM rebellions, and a woefully inadequate response to house the homeless - he's likely eroded enough of his coalition of the left to lose reelection and is being saved from that. Why India is probably the more puzzling aspect.

  14. Mostly I think its for their domestic media to show off how noble the state is. That and they want to normalise their own behaviour internationally if possible so they can commit genocide in peace.

  15. What version of the game are you running? According the the Cyber Engine Tweaker Documentation it only works with version 1.11. Running the 1.04 Fitgirl patch and when I check the logs I have an error telling me only 1.04 is supported. Tweaks don't work at all. Installing mods through Vortex.

  16. We should definitely follow the European model on this one, although that would mean college would become more difficult to get into and more difficult to complete.

  17. Do you mean to say more difficult to complete as a negative? I did my degree in the EU and have also taken courses in the USA and I am utterly shocked at what counts as passing for the latter. Like, bare minimum levels off effort to get top marks compared to having to do extensive amounts of reading and research and getting 'Good. Nothing special.' type marks.

  18. Its pretty much a given he will lose his HRH status eventually. He's going to be charged. No one is "protecting" him. Thats not how the law works in the UK.

  19. Haven’t you heard? U.K. law is made for breaking in “specific and limited” ways.

  20. Platon is really ripped. Must be spending some time in the gym besides thinking all day.

  21. Isn’t that Socrates on the right? He has a very distinctive nose.

  22. What are you using to teach yourself to animate? Sounds like a worthwhile investment!

  23. Check out Blender. It’s incredibly powerful for lots of stuff including animation while also being free and open source so the only barrier to entry is how much time you want to spend learning.

  24. Absolutely! There are also a ton of learning resources (most of which are free). YouTube is a great resource (Blender Guru and CG Geek are just a couple that have pretty good tutorials) and there is

  25. In the 70s, there'd be smoggy days when I'd cough uncontrollably for an hour after PE. Thankfully it got better in the 80s and 90s.

  26. "Picard"? That's not a Netflix created show, it's CBS.

  27. I think it was Discovery. I don’t know if Netflix made it or not but that’s how they released it in Britain.

  28. That's also CBS. (Now I'm wondering if CBS owns the rights to the entire Star Trek franchise).

  29. Potentially. I remember they did the first season of Better Call Saul that way as well so maybe that type of release is part of international licensing.
