PSA: scammers are impersonating UMD faculty members to try and get money / information from people in their contact lists. It seems they somehow got contact information and email history of faculty and are trying to use it to conduct targeted phishing attacks on UMD. Be wary of random texts / emails

Just push faster than the other guy.
“I’m force pushing as hard as I can!” “PUSH HARDER DAMMIT, HE’S OVERWRITING OUR FEATURE COMMITS”
To be clear I'm not suggesting that something nefarious is being done intentionally - my objection is to the lack of disclosure to the creditors as to where in the process things currently stand and what outstanding items might be pending; I can even understand not wanting to commit to time frames and dates, but tell us what steps are pending and potentially stopping things from proceeding - you know, a STATUS UPDATE. If there's something pending court review, let people know. Right now the black hole of silence isn't any more appropriate of an alternative.
I mean… the law is the law. There really is no opinion about it. It sucks, but as far as I can see the trustee is literally following the law to the letter here.
Morocco, but with the caveat that I would want Restaurant Marrakesh and the import shops to be open
I mean the subreddit has a ton of disappointed players and there's been a lot of "we'll have this feature by this time, lol jk". But if you don't count those then yeah you're right
I’m very puzzled by the overwhelming vitriolic reaction to Star Citizen every time it’s mentioned on a major subreddit.
John Paul Jones is a pirate. No loyalty does he possess.
The markers were for sure there but I can’t remember if they were on plaques/wood or painted. It would be a shame if they were removed because it serves as a reminder to how easily Main Street floods and that we should preserve it
I heard someone tell me the big flood marker next to the railway bridge was washed away in the last flood. I dunno how true that is though.

That’s a pretty bold claim, as beef is almost universally the highest user out of both space and feedland of all livestock. Do you have a source for that?
Yes, he is colonizing. Why couldn’t he have rented a cheap room and worked part time in another place? There are plenty of places in the US with equally good weather. California has warm beaches. So does Florida. Texas. Etc. Plenty of other places that would have allowed him to escape the rat race, but he’s living out the white fantasy of being in Hawai’i.
You make a valid point and your perspective is reasonable. The choice of the individual worker is a factor of this specific situation.
Hey, I don’t think it’s very productive to criticize a fellow worker for moving themselves to a less-exploitative situation.
I just don't see how Darth Vader force choking his step child for speaking for instance or Han Solo being unfrozen from Carbonite then yelling at Leia is historical. Apparently people like your logic though
Hey, so I think you may have misunderstood the post to think that it was focusing on the character of Captain America and the fantastical abilities ascribed to this character in comic books; on the contrary, this post, as well as the discussion around it, instead focuses on the cultural artifacts of gendered roles and racial segregation that existed in the time period of the early to mid 1900s in America, and ask the question how would a person out of time, regardless of how progressive they were for his or her time, react to sudden immersion in the new cultural norms of a different time period? The post could very well substitute “Captain America” for “a man who grew up in the 1930s who suddenly time travels to the 2010s” to a similar (if more verbose) effect.
They live in their own universe correct? It's comparable but not ours? You're right to point out I was being facetious and probably not fair earlier but it's kinda condescending to assume someone you're talking to on history sub doesn't understand basic American history. Especially if that person is actually a US History teacher
I do sincerely apologize for being condescending; that was not constructive. It is, however, important to understand that fiction and fantasy are not devoid of meaning and can indeed spark genuine discussion of history and culture, especially more so if they rely on real history or culture for their setting. From my perspective, your previous comment was casually dismissive of that fact.
Death to 2020
The British lady is my favorite character in that series.
I think a lot of his extreme antics were to teach things, and to illustrate contradictions in society. Plato called him a “Socrates gone mad,” which kind of lines up with his antics of being a Socratic gadfly turned up to 11 with a lot more plucking chickens and jerking off in public.
BEHOLD
I mean, I can’t even be mad, the subreddit is called

Yeah, next we'll be asking the CEO and chairman of the board if he wants to join. Plot twist: They already applied (the shareholders are all corrupt insurance/retirement funds and they want to rectify the market)
Next thing we know, we get an email from every stakeholder saying they would like to join (capitalism is corrupt and they want to rectify society)

Matolotlib is pretty terrible but nowhere near as counter intuitive and stupid as ggplot.
I guess it depends on your use case and your background. I like ggplot because it allows you to separate components of your plot and add more on the fly in an almost object-oriented fashion, but I understand that it can get really confusing and sometimes just breaks
You see that wasn’t REAL socialism
