Useless antagonists. I've mentioned before but I hate antagonists who can't actually do anything but hold positions of power for... Some... Reason. If we're going to devote screen time to an antagonist then they themselves need something which makes them feel powerful. Not just their men. This doesn't have to be outright power. This could be something like being very charismatic, a good strategist, have the ability to make things which other people actually want... They just have to SOMETHING themselves. ANYTHING to explain why people follow them beyond "this person is a lord or king".
I dont really think that whole to be a leader you gotta be a special charismatic chad thing. It is more realistic for people to follow antagonists just cuz theyre the boss. Being in a position of authority in the real world doesn't correlate too strongly with skill. Think policemen, politicians, hell even a lotta company CEOs.
