I’m trying to make a Star Wars fan film. If I were to film a lightsaber fight sequence. Would I have the actual blade ignited while filming? This means that that blade will light up green, blue etc. Or should I film with the regular blade. How will it effect adding the vfx later?

I think you misinterpreted a bit. In the movie they say that dreamwalking deteriorates the borders between universes, and once the 'border' has completely deteriorated, the universes collide. The 838 Strange was said to have really overdone it on the dreamwalking.
