  1. Tell me, why would any father continue to replenish precious/valuable gifts when his children have only ever spit on it, cleaved from it, and abused it? Have hardly ever treated it with any modicum of dignity and respect?

  2. Leash? Utah? Excuse me, but did you just insult my dog's God given free agency?

  3. This guy could be a legend if only he lost the flag, was wearing an ox-horned viking helmet, hands on his hips standing in defiance of mother nature.

  4. "You are some white trash" in the most Midwestern accent hits hard 😂😂😂

  5. My favorite, not in the video is, "Norm! What'd ya know?".... "Not enough" 😂😂 gets me every time.

  6. It might also be worth contemplating that a lot of BYU students come from out of state and/or out of country. Generally, LDS people from anywhere outside Utah are like most people not LDS. Being raised LDS in a state/nation where you're part of the super minority, lends towards playing by and accepting the typical societal norms.

  7. These women, and by association men, are literal martyrs. Martyrs of the belief/faith in basic human dignity and respect. Quite literally walking into the inferno. I dearly hope these people are absolute in their resolve. As a veteran, I salute you. Your courage far surpasses mine.

  8. I've lived here my entire life as a mormon and have never heard it. There are a lot of bad cultural things in Utah Church Members.

  9. Just out of curiosity, why don't people just stop watering and mowing? I don't understand the point in spending time and money to xeriscape when one could just let whatever nature decides to grow. IMO spring thistle (the big tall prickly plants with huge purple blooms for anyone new) and summer/fall sunflowers are the prettiest. I mean, idk, nature can paint better paintings than we ever could or will be able to do... If we just let it.

  10. I live in a major urban area in the US and most of the cars are sedans. Pickups are a suburban thing.

  11. Take a trip to the Mountain West and you'll find them everywhere, in metro areas and in rural areas. I live in Salt Lake City and previously in Pheonix, the pickup is definitely top three vehicles sold in the mountain west. Denver and Boise are also heavily laden with pickups. Out west it's almost like a fashion statement, hell of a lot of highway princesses out here who treat their pickups like they're Koenigseggs.

  12. Its ironic and funny, sure, but when 1 enemy country is unintentionally delivering more weapons to Ukraine than USA or sometimes whole west combined, its definitely such an indicative that west can and has to do MUCH more and isn't doing enough at all.

  13. Russia doesn't take proper preventative care for it's equipment. Honestly, Russia hasn't given Ukraine anything except shit. The amount of equipment/training given to Ukraine by the west has been given with a measured efficacy. It might also be important to remember that, tactically speaking, western military weapons systems are far more technologically advanced, that Ukrainians aren't used to, which require some pretty advanced training to properly use and maintain them. Giving a bunch of warriors new toys that they have little to no understanding of, will often end up fairing with no net gain.

  14. This amazes me. There's not many cops. Hundreds of protestor. Yet one gets arrested and they all stand back?

  15. In regards to the police not being drafted, I would guess that the closer one gets to the Kremlin/Putin both physically and/or policitically the more highly trained one is to protect it/him.

  16. It was a great vibe there all weekend, too - reminded me a lot of Bathurst, in the number of families, generally respectable behaviour and sense of kinship throughout the crowd. I was camped out just between the final two turns, so had a front and centre view of the battle for the lead in the last race, it was a spectacle.

  17. How was your reaction to the bump svg gave Waters in T11? I almost shit my pants, can't imagine what it was like live.

  18. I’ve spun in the wet coming out of that corner on a test day, in a much slower amateur car, and I am still wiping myself several years later. After my first fast laps at Puke I came in and told my team (mates and family) “hell no I’m going home), I find it that scary. I’ve raced there a couple of times since, and hope to get one last one in before it closes, but I’ve never stopped being afraid of the last corner and the first corner.

  19. I salute you Brigadier General Heavy Nuts. 👏👏👏👏 That's wild.

  20. As a former military police officer, that "get home to your family" narrative floated around often, especially in shoot-no-shoot training. One day, I went into my lieutenant's office with a candid question, "Why do we only apply the get home narrative to us? When that narrative cannot apply to 99% of our interactions, considering 100% of that 99% is people, humans, just like us, also trying to get home to their SO and/or kids." My lieutenant pondered in silence about this, and says with conviction "You're right, we're definitely going to push for changes about that narrative or at least start the discussion." Unfortunately, I separated the same month, so I never got to see if the seed I planted bore tasty fruit.

  21. With the pending situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia, are they still really going to hold a GP next year in Azerbaijan? Seems... Odd. Unless I'm just being an ignorant turd.

  22. LoTR gang makes there way to Lothlorien forest and comes upon Galadhrim elves all wasted on backwoods West Virginny white lightening, half of them are blind, led by a Forrest Bondurant type character, and all of them have a thick hilly-billy dialect.

  23. Ah yes, the good old "non-visible or non-apparent disability isn't a disability" argument. 🤦

  24. How should Utah tax payers money be spent? Helping provide housing to homeless utahns? Nope. How about used for cutting down our water use? Nope. Helping struggling local businesses? Wrong again. Doing anything at all to help utahns or make this place a better state? Nope. It should be used to help protect corrupt politicians.

  25. Apparently, Jesus' teachings of selfless devotion to the needy has been forgotten. Apparently, caring for this one planet of ours that safely harbors God's gift of life, a place to express free agency, and prove worthiness to enter Heaven doesn't apply either.

  26. And Americans, obviously they prefer another parking lot track than Monaco

  27. American here, personally that's incorrect. While compared to other circuits, including one's that other categories run, Monaco definitely is not at the top, maybe mid-fielder. I also think 90s era regs raced better than today at Monaco, but Miami GP can fuck off. Then again, I'm not a typical American (if there is one), I got into F1 right around when Button/Brawn won the titles.
