The first psychiatrist I saw for ADHD discounted my experiences, said that adult adhd was extremely rare in women and I didn't have it. Then prescribed me strong mood stabilizers that made me a zombie so I only ever took one. It took a while after that devastation to go to a different one who said the first one was an idiot and it was obvious I had it.
