Saudi buying from Russia and selling to Europe is better than Europe buying from Russia. First, Saudi now has an incentive to replace Russian imports with their own oil over time to make more money. And if oil demand goes down with the global recession, Saudis will just cut Russian imports rather than taking a hit on their own production. Also, Russia can no longer use the threat of cutting oil deliveries to Europe as a diplomatic weapon since they now import from Saudis.

I mean Venezuela oil production has cratered since 2016, preventing billions in revenue for that country. They've had massive shortages and like a third of their population fled as refugees to Colombia, Chile and the US.
