Jackfruita jadłem wcześniej, choć fakt, był już przygotowany. Po prostu ten z puszki mnie mocno (i nieprzyjemnie) zaskoczył.

Games like this always wind up with a conflict between the story told through the narrative (the actual story) and the story told through gameplay (what the player is actually doing). Throughout the narrative of the game, it's implied that the PC does very little killing - and it's always justified as "doing what needed to be done". The narrative as told by the actual gameplay, however, is very different; the grounds surrounding Hogwarts run red with the blood of your enemies.

I still don't get how it's a big deal. I heard these conversations after playing Uncharted and TLOU2. People really can't differentiate in their minds gameplay from the story? It's obvious that this amount if killing is there only so that we can have fun while playing, yet at the same time if that story would be presented in tv/movie/book, it would be extremely different. The Last of Us tv show is a good example of that, if they would show Ellie and Joel killing people and infected left and right like they do in game, it would cheapen the danger and the weight of each of these kills. But in the game it's absolutely fine.

It's a big deal because it's a problem unique to video games, and things being said and done in the story narratives often directly conflict with things being done in the gameplay narrative. If Hogwarts Legacy was being portrayed in any other medium, things would play out exactly as you described. Since it's a video game, the narrative portion will generally align with what you described... but the actual gameplay does not, which is when the dissonance occurs.

I absolutely understand, and like I said I've learned that therm during discussions around TLOU2, yet I honestly still don't get why people can't wrap their minds around the idea that gameplay in most games is not representative of the story, morals and ethics of storyline. The cutscenes and dialogues are for that. If there are games that can combine the two, why not, but for most games the way it's done right now is still good enough. At least in my humble opinion.

I'm a happy console gamer now. Nothing sad about it. I chill on my couch with a game I know will work as intended. I literally used to build gaming PC's for a living. Perhaps that's why I don't want to do it for fun any more. haha.

I don't think thats accurate, US is more like upper middle of the pack. Keep in mind that places like Saudi Arabia are considered well developed nations as well. The US still ranks fairly high by the HDI index, which I'm sure isn't a flawless ranking system but there is some merit to it. My point though was that those places that outrank the USA are very desirable and they're no secret, many people want to move there and getting citizenship usually isn't easy.

As a Pole who was born in 90's we had a weird obsession about US in my country. Almost every family knew someone who immigrated to US for better life, they would send some support money back home and such. 30 years later it's nonexistent and I actually don't know anyone who would wish to move there. And after working a few years after getting my diploma which cost me nothing, having stable, safe job from home, not having to work over 40h a week to live comfortably,. not having to generally worry about the things US people are worrying about (or worse, are used to), I'm just so glad I was born in Poland. I perhaps would consider moving to north or west Europe if my quality of life would rise significantly, and still I would only consider it, but there is no offer on Earth that would convince me to move to US.

Not to detract from this travesty but the reason you’re talking about is due to the rise of terror news and the ease of access to social media and technology. Keep in mind my country has states the size of many countries on other continents. It’s very VERY easy to paint the entire swath of the country in a negative light when in the vast majority of areas things are very much the old dream. Sebastian always loved learning about Dark Arts, trying to find a cure for Anne provided him an easy excuse to have no boundaries for his curiosity. So does raising Inferi by using the relict has anything to do with curing Anne? Not at all, but he excuses his actions that someday somehow it might. The fact that he lost control of them (they attacked MC and Omnis) and therefore were a threat to the village was not as important as Sebastian's lust for power. This is why he also reacted this bad when his uncle destroyed the relict.

I really don't think that Inferi had anything to do it. It was just Seb's opportunity to play around with relic's power. To use it as a cure it required a sacrifice, and we know from HP and other magical worlds that it always means a sacrifice of a living being or their blood. I'm pretty sure if it came to this, Seb would have to sacrifice MC, Omnis or his uncle to save Anne, and he would do it, even against Anne's wish. Because he is thinks he knows better than everyone around him what is best for Anne.
