Good citizens of I-95, what you got for me?

  1. Downtown Niantic for a pint of ice cream, pint of beer, or pint of fried seafood. Old Lyme ice cream shoppe. Bishops orchards farm in Guilford. Christys in Westbrook for breakfast if possible. Westport has a shake shack that is pretty low key during the week also. All these places are in cute downtown areas, except the farm, but I have a food based memory fwiw.

  2. Submarine Force Museum in Groton. Currently Historic Ship Nautilus (world's first nuclear submarine, you can tour the forward compartment) is up the river for dry docking and won't return until later this year, but the rest of the museum is good too. You can stop more than once, admission is free. Closed on Tuesdays.

  3. Skatepark in Groton is sweet if you’re into that sort of thing, or just want to watch some people rip it

  4. Obviously you have to stop at one of the apizza places in New Haven. Modern, Sally’s or Delegna/Nolo. Actually, Do you self a favor and stop at a different one each trip. You can order ahead for pick-up at each and they’re only a few minutes off 95. Would only add 15 mins to your trip.
