How to shut that shit down! Hope more bars take note.

  1. There is always going to be evil people in the world, so I don’t wish it wasn’t necessary. As long as we know how to tackle it, the world will remain a good place

  2. Sadly it was the bartender who drugged me at a bar and it was a nice place, not some seedy dive bar. Glad to see the owners/managers taking it to this level. Good on them!!!

  3. Same. Thank god he gave me too much and I projectile vomited everything in my body within 15 minutes. Still had the spins and huge pupils for a day but at least I didn’t get raped.

  4. There's a bar here in Denver that I refuse to ever frequent again. I wish I could remember the name right now...

  5. I'm glad to see that more bars are taking a stand against sexual harassment. It's important that we create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, and that includes not tolerating any type of sexual harassment. Thanks for speaking out!

  6. Man, if every bar did this could you imagine how many people would stop trying to drug drinks? This is amazing. I’d be a patron of this bar 100%.

  7. Yes. Any bar that does this will get my business. I frequented one for years, even though they almost kicked my ass over it.

  8. I have a friend who was out with some friends, mixed company, and there was this one rando who kept hanging out around them. The table ordered wine and somehow the whole bottle got drugged and EVERYONE got sick. They quickly sussed out who it was but he was gone before anyone could do anything. I’ve always wondered what sits in these people’s minds when they do this. Do they do mental gymnastics to justify their rape or do they know they’re a straight up rapist and don’t care? I suspect somewhere in the middle.

  9. Does no one else see how ridiculously unrealistic and ineffective this is? Call the damn police. Sitting with the lights on and no music for an hour does nothing.

  10. LOL I know. I can't believe how many people think this actually happened. The story is so ridiculously contrived it could easily become a copypasta. Complete with "everybody cheered".

  11. It sends an important message: THIS IS NOT RIGHT. Yes, the police were called, but the point is: the management of that bar decided that when a method to RAPE a woman/man is attempted at the bar, A MESSAGE NEEDS TO BE SENT. This shit ain't right, and if you attempt it, everyone's going to lose out.

  12. Doesn’t mention if the police where notified since a female customer identified the man who did it but hey, the whole place clapped for an hour.

  13. I wish this wasn't a repost of something that didn't happen. The bar would not last more than one night. Look out for your friends yourselves. Because this doesn't actually happen.

  14. Nah, stopping the band is good, as it signals to everyone that the bar takes this very seriously. "No, we're not going to act like everything is normal, because this shit ain't right."

  15. I think when there is no music there is probably also not much dancing and stuff so you can get a better view of what is happening and if somebody is maybe behaving drugged ( didn’t know a better word).

  16. “Now if I can bring your attention to the guy in the red shirt, thank him for your free drinks with a kick in the ass! He’s the one who drugged the drinks!”

  17. That’s a bro move. Good for them. And I hope they……vigorously massaged that gentleman that drugged her drink. Massaged him vigorously with whatever may have been handy at the time. Rocks, barstools, etc.

  18. Omg I saw that the other day! It made me so happy that a place actually takes responsibility and does something about it! That makes it sound like not many places do, but you'd be surprised.

  19. This could have been handled in under 10 minutes with even the most basically trained security team. If they actually let this shit go on for an hour it means someone WASN'T doing their job.

  20. Estimates published by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 9, 2021 indicate that globally about 1 in 3 (30%) of women worldwide have been subjected to either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime.

  21. Why weren’t the guys drinks replaced? You could’ve mistaken What he had seen and the drink was actually going to a guy

  22. I absolutely love hearing this!! Thank you for sharing. Having a 22 year old daughter that goes to bars, I love they are watching out for them! Obviously not all are like this, but they need to follow exactly what this bar does!

  23. I’m sure this has already been stated, but they actually have nail polish that detects if a drink has been drugged: the gal dips the tip of her finger in a glass, and if it’s drugged, the polish will turn a different color.

  24. I will like to know more about it because depending on the size of the bar this can be not be able to maintain.

  25. I didn't see which sub this was at first and thought this was going to end with them thinking it was you.

  26. As much as this is awesome, I wanted to see the part where the guy was taken round back, beaten black and blue, then arrested. One step at a time, I suppose.

  27. The cost for a round of free drinks is inconsequential compared to the cost of your bar getting a reputation as "that skeevy place where girls get drugged."

  28. That is awesome, and I highly encourage more bars to do this. On the other hand what if it's a ploy by women to get free drinks? They go to bars around town that have that safe word set up, tell the bartender when their drinks are low, then BAM free refill.

  29. These little weird fictional tales of morality are interesting. Not because of the content but because of the weird people writing them. Reminiscent of the fundamental Christian comic strips.

  30. Don’t you think this story is too good to be true. Some random woman claimed a guy dropped some pill in the glass jar and suddenly every girl got their drinks replaced. With this strategy any rival bars might send in random girls every night claiming the same and get the drinks replaced. How many losses till the bar closes. Sweet story but not true.

  31. So ruin a bands performance over someone telling you something they saw??? Lol I'd be pissed off if I was performing and someone decided to ruin my art.

  32. This is a good initiative but I wonder if there was some discreet way of doing this, what if the guy was just putting ice for his gf's drink or something? People here just jumped to the conclusion that guy must be a rapist, not like guys are good for anything else right?
