I just realized something...there is only one driver still active in the Nascar Cup Series that has been on the track racing against Dale Earnhardt Sr.

  2. And Jimmy Spencer claims Dale told him about flipping Kurt off even though Dale never lived out of the car again.

  3. So I looked this up out of boredom and here's some drivers from his first dabble in Cup during 1977 as I go through the points list:

  4. Andy Lally disagrees with you. Lally raced against Dale Sr in the 24 hours of Daytona in 2001, and competed at COTA for Live Fast Motorsports in 2022 in the NASCAR Cup series finishing 39th place.

  5. Kevin Harvick didn't race against Earnhardt, but he was already in the RCR organization as Earnhardt's understudy. Does that count for anything?

  6. Not really...and according to Harvick's retelling of the story he was actually supposed to get a part time second RCR car for the 2001 season and the go full time in 02

  7. Nope, but he did all of Dale's testing in 2000. It was Dave Marcis, Mike Skinner, and Mike Dillon doing most of it until RCR hired Harvick (per the Dale, Jr. Download).

  8. Idk if active Trucks series drivers count; but, Norm Benning raced against Dale Sr. in the 1993 Transouth 500 at Darlington. Both of them respectively bookend the finishing order with a 366 lap difference between them.

  9. I'm not going to look it up but it was more than one. I remember being pissed that he replaced Chad Little for the last part of the 2000 season.
