I think that stage points should only apply to first two rounds of playoffs. Then for the remainder of the playoffs only the points you gain in the playoffs should apply. Or something like that.
I don't have a doctorate, but it seems like something I could teach to some preschoolers. I've been a para for preschoolers before, and some of the more advanced kids could count to 10, which is all you have to do. You take 11 and subtract it from the position of the driver. If it's 0 or lower, round up to 0.
18 different stage winners and 19 race winners. Clearly it's easier to win a race than a stage.
That stat blew my mind.

Actually a pretty solid article, not half-written with zero data claims
Dr. Diandra always has great stuff. She's one of the most underrated writers on the NASCAR beat.
Get rid of the races and just have stages.
What if the whole race was just one long stage?

Do we really need this type of point system if it has to require doctors to explain?
Seems like it was just analysis of how much parity there has been this season.
If you need to have the system explained to you that’s a you problem. People may not like the system, but it’s not hard to understand.

If that was an explanation, then I never knew what was going on
