Week 3

  1. I totally feel you. I love my job but it is extremely stressful and emotional (emergency animal hospital). Weed was my way of coping with that stress and decompressing. The problem being that when I start smoking, I can’t stop and all I want to do is sleep and avoid everything. Every time I’ve tried to quit I’ve only been able to get like 3 weeks before I cave in, so good for you for making it this far! I’m at day 3 this time and I can’t wait to get to 3 weeks. My dad just celebrated 19 years clean and sober. He’s been a big inspiration. His drug of choice was also weed and his life has improved tremendously since then.

  2. Life may seem like shit at the moment, but you aren't going to be able to work your way out of a bad situation if you give up and get high instead of dealing with your problems. Try drawing a picture of what you want your life to look like, it really helped me figure out what I wanted out of my life and that's the first step.

  3. I am on day 29 and I still struggle with the overwhelming emotions. It does, however, get better. It seems like it is all-consuming and, sometimes, it can be, but your mind will work it out. Most people here find exercise can help (even if its just a walk or some stretching). Meditation and deep breathing techniques are also coping skills that lots of us use. It helps to understand where your emotions come from so that theyre not so scary. This is hard; you are re-training your brain to work without THC and that is a slow chemical process. We are all here for you and if you ever need to talk, feel free to reach out. You are loved no matter what.
