Anyone come across this? Screen won’t turn on. Laptop is connected to the power source. MacBook Pro 2016

  1. Did you happen to turn the brightness all the way down? I have done that once before on a restart and it is hard to realise.

  2. It might be the flat cable that connects display to the logic board. It's a common problem on 2016 MacBook Pros. My Mac was affected too: the issue occurred 4 years after the purchase and I've had the chance to have my entire laptop replaced for free.

  3. A couple of months ago this same problem happened with my 2016 MBP. When I opened it one morning it, the built in display was blank with no prior issues. The laptop still works with an external monitor plugged in and the camera still works as well. When I took it to the Apple Store, it was either going to be cable repair (a just over $100 I think) or full display replacement (around $650) - they said they wouldn’t know until they started the repair which they said could take up to 7-10 days. I’m currently using it with the external monitor until I finish up a project I’m working on and then plan on taking it in for repair… or trade up to the new M1X? 🤔
