FMCSA Waives Some CDL Skills Testing Requirements for School Bus Drivers

  1. It applies to engine inspection only, as in during the exam, demonstrate to the examiner what the various components are.

  2. Yea that was probably the most useless part of my CDL exam, just know where the safety equipment is. I don't need to know where the pitman arm or the drag link is, I'm not doing my own maintenance.

  3. Another huge gubmit agency I've never heard of. Maybe the FAA will waive airline pilots from knowing about the jet engines on planes to stem the pilot shortages?

  4. They’re a sub-agency under the USDOT, they employ around 1100 people so they’re really not all that “huge”.
